Penhurst is the sort of place where one must pause. For those who have been here, you will know already: for those of you who haven't, what is stopping you? Here mobiles, e-mails, blackberries, news, interruptions are put aside. And in their place? Time to think, to 'be', to be aware of God's presence. For us involved in mission there is space to be ourselves, to be renewed, rejuvenated and recharged - to fill up the tank so that we again have something to offer. Don't think Penhurst is easy to reach. There are so many activities to fill the time in the normal day that travelling down narrow, winding lanes may seem a pointless task. But when you see the fire, food, friends, you know you have reached your destination, at last. |
