WHY COME AND WHAT TO EXPECT? This 3 day residential experience is designed to provide a time, space and setting for deep personal retreat. You will be with a small group of men (up to 6 in total) with similar yet individually unique motivations and approaches to this retreat. It is primarily individual, though there is an unusual and often profound blessing that comes from being alongside others doing the same thing (see more on this below).

The retreat will be a time and place for:
• Reflection – seeking and listening to the Lord and to your own heart
• Refreshment – entering into stillness to gain rest for your soul
• Reframing – the potential to gain fresh insight and clarity about your life and work
• Revitalising – the opportunity to gain new strength, energy and vision for the future

It is the individual ingredients and the way they are combined that makes it so compelling:

• The hospitality
Penhurst is a simple, charming, glorious, welcoming place with an atmosphere of peace and stillness. There is nothing false or spiritually contrived about it. Just a wonderful place of great hospitality and rest.

• The chance to take focused time out by yourself to seek God and listen to your own heart.
Whether you are searching for insight or clarity on your future life and work direction, or in need of a real, “fully breathing out” break, you will find a great context for it here.

• Sharing in a paradoxical but very real fellowship with other men.
You are predominantly in silence with these Christian brothers during the retreat, and yet past experience is that people experience a strong and upholding sense of being on a journey together (supported by the daily touch points of morning and evening prayer and meals). It can be really profound.

• The opportunity to have a daily 1 to 1 session with David.
This can include leadership coaching and mentoring type conversation, supportive prayer, or “just” empathetic listening.

• The use of a Purpose & Calling questionnaire in advance
to help you (if you require it) to review your life and work to date and identify the strands. haring in a paradoxical but very real fellowship with other men.
