Joy Green

Hello my name is Joy Green. I am a retired Anglican minister from Maidstone. I trained at SEITE as an NSM (Non Stipendiary Minister) from 2004 - 2007 and served my Curacy at St Martin`s Church Maidstone, first as Curate and then as Associate Priest. I retired in 2015 and now hold Permission to Officiate in the Canterbury Diocese, so I am still busy (just at a slightly slower pace!) I am married with two grown up sons. One living in Worthing, the other in Mexico. I love being creative in my work and I also enjoy exercise ; Zumba, walking, swimming, going to the theatre and films, reading and seeing friends and family. I am a Spiritual Director in Canterbury Diocese and have also worked voluntarily for Project Salus, (Restorative Justice with young people). I enjoy leading creative retreats/ Quiet Days and seasonal reflective prayer events for my church at St Martins and other churches. I have been leading retreats at Penhurst since 2013. A very special privilege. My heart is very much connected to walking alongside others in their own faith journeys and to encourage all of us, in this busy hectic world, to enjoy God in Christ, to allow time and energy for seeing His love in action within the world around us, as well as within each of us as unique individuals. As the psalmist says: `Be still and know that I am God` Psalm 46 verse 10
