Local Covid Alert Levels and coming to Penhurst

This message was added on 2020-10-19

On Monday 12 October, the UK Government announced a 3-tier system of Local Covid Alert Levels setting out information for local authorities, residents and workers about what to do and how to manage the ongoing coronavirus situation in their area.

After reviewing the Government’s information about restrictions for the different tiers we have sadly come to the difficult decision to ask people coming from areas classed as high (tier 2), as well as very high (tier 3), not to come to Penhurst at this time.  Whilst people from high risk areas (tier 2) are currently permitted to travel and stay away from home, they may only do so with members of their household or support bubble, and should not mix with people from another household in any indoor setting.  Therefore we do not feel it would be right to have people from either of these tiers gather here at Penhurst at this time.

Initially we will be cancelling existing bookings and not accepting any new booking requests for guests coming from high or very high areas (tiers 2 and 3) until at least 30 November 2020.  We will be working through the diary to contact those affected, and will keep the ongoing situation under review.

As the UK Government continues to review and make changes to the local areas within each tier, we also ask all guests to check which level their local authority is in before coming to Penhurst, by using the Government postcode checker and not to come to Penhurst if the result is in the high or very high levels.

We recognise this is disappointing news, but thank you for your understanding as we seek to do our part in helping prevent the spread of covid-19 and keep our guests, staff and volunteers safe.

We would appreciate your prayers for the ongoing situation, and will be praying for those guests affected in light of this unexpected change of plans.
