Retiring Well - starting 3 March (Online)

A monthly course over six months, for those approaching retirement and for those who have finished full time work in the last year. Retirement is a time of significant change for people: a journey rather than an event, with many topics to think though. Come alone, with your spouse or a colleague at a similar stage.

This course will be run on Zoom, monthly on Wednesday evenings from 7.30 to 9.30pm. The dates are: 3 March, 24 March, 28 April, 26 May, 23 June, 29 September 2021.

By the end of the course participants will have:
Had opportunity to consider some of the implications of retirement for them personally.
Been inspired to pray, think and plan about how they can best use their retirement.
Been given some resources to help them to do this.
Will eventually have a purposeful, fulfilled retirement.

The programme will cover:
1. An introduction to the Retiring Well course and how to make the most of it.
2. Challenges & opportunities in retirement.
3. Life journeys and life legacies.
4. Exploring God`s calling for your retirement.
5. Succession planning and leaving a work legacy.
6. A Christian perspective on retirement & growing old.
7. The "Gap" possibility: developing a buffer between work and retirement.
8. A balanced lifestyle: pacing life & use of time in retirement.
9. Supporting others, supporting yourself: including compiling a personal support matrix.
10. More time at home: considerations for those who are married and those who live alone.
11. Finding new identity & self-worth without paid employment.
12. Staying or moving: key points to consider about where to live and when to move.
13. Volunteering: opportunities & tips.
14. Developing your devotional life in retirement.
15. Some financial considerations for retirement
16. Next steps on the retirement journey.
