Covid update effective Monday 19 July 2021

This message was added on 2021-07-16

Whilst the UK Government is easing Covid restrictions further in England and the UK vaccination programme is progressing rapidly, the Coronavirus situation continues to be an ongoing reality for all of us and here at Penhurst Retreat Centre we are taking a cautious and prayerful approach.  Throughout the pandemic we have worked hard to implement the government guidelines and regulations relevant to us, to do all that we can to help our guests feel safe whilst maintaining that the warm and friendly welcome of Penhurst. We are aware that for many people, this may be their first time venturing out to visit one of their favourite places again since lockdown.

The wellbeing of our staff and guests is our highest priority, and we are grateful that we have had no reported cases of the virus amongst our staff and volunteers.

From Monday 19 July 2021
We are making some changes but also keeping some precautions in place.  We will be:
  • Making additional places available on some led retreats.
  • Increasing the maximum number of guests on group bookings.
  • Allowing people from separate households / support bubbles to share bedrooms.
  • Asking all guests to undertake a covid lateral flow test with 24 hours before arriving at Penhurst.
  • Asking and expecting everyone (guests and staff) to continue wearing face coverings or clear visors in all communal areas, unless seated at a dining table during mealtimes or exempt due to underlying health conditions.
  • Continuing to request guests bring their own face covering, drinks bottle, pillow and pillowcase.
