Please note:

If you are a full-time Christian worker, overseas or in the UK, who is struggling to meet the cost of a retreat and  are not being supported by an organisation or agency, please contact us as a bursary may be available.

A 10% discount is offered for those working with member agencies of Global Connections.

Quiet days with midday meal and refreshments:    

10am - 4pm

`Come and Be Still` days with refreshments only:


10am - 4pm, bring your own lunch

Residential retreats:

For individuals and small groups up to a maximum of 16 in 9 bedrooms.  All rooms can be booked as single-occupancy.

Adapted ground floor accommodation is available. Please ask for this if you have difficulty climbing stairs.

A minimum two night stay applies, except for whole house group bookings and those in full-time church leadership.  Last minute one-night bookings may also be possible for others - please contact the office for availability.

Half-board / Bed and Breakfast

Penhurst is a catered facility and full-board bookings are preferred.

If, however, you would prefer not to have certain meals we will take off £5 for each missed meal [not including breakfast] if arranged at time of booking.  No refunds or reductions are made for meals paid for and not taken.


Bursaries and financial assistance:

Mission and ministry: If you are a full-time Christian worker, overseas or in the UK, who is struggling to meet the cost of a retreat and are not being supported by an organisation or agency, please contact us as a bursary may be available.

Ignatian and silent retreats: The Society of Retreat Conductors offer grants for people training in Ignatian spirituality and/or attending retreats.  See their website for more information and how to apply.

Low income and/or other financial need: We have access to a limited number of part-bursaries per year from another organisation.  Please contact us for details.

Payment by instalments is possible, up to the final payment date. 


Families with children:

Due to the small and quiet nature of the retreat centre, we do not accommodate families - except for mission partner families during specific led retreats.  Please contact us for conditions, prices and availability.


 

Time of arrival/departure for residential retreats

If possible please aim to arrive between 3 - 4.30pm and depart after lunch on final day.

Please let us know if you would like to arrive at a different time. Alternative arrival times need to be agreed with us in advance as we do not have residential staff on-site.


Terms and Conditions of Booking

In all cases, Penhurst Retreat Centre reserves the right to cancel a booking that has been reserved or booked. Should this event occur, we will endeavour to inform you as soon as we can and outline options available.

Day visitors

are asked to pay in full at the time of booking.

Residential retreats - deposit:

A non-refundable deposit of £50 per person is required at the time of booking in order to secure your place. We regret we cannot hold a room for you until we have received your deposit payment.

Residential retreats - final payment:

Payment by instalments is possible, up to the final payment date. 

Full payment should be received no later than one month before the date of arrival or at the time of the booking if this is within a month of your start date. If you cancel within one month of your stay your full payment is non-refundable [see Cancellation Policy below].

Group bookings:

Both the deposit and the final payment for all group bookings should be made by the group organiser as a single payment.

If you have contacted us and arranged to pay by cheque, these should be made payable to Penhurst Retreat Centre.

Cancellations:

If you are forced to cancel less than one month before your stay we will try our best to transfer your booking to another date. If this is not feasible for you then the full fee will be payable. For this reason, and your own peace of mind, we recommend that full insurance cover be obtained.

Refunds:

No refunds or reductions are made for accommodation and meals paid for and not taken.

Insurance:

We strongly advise that you take out a cancellation policy to cover the overall cost of your stay should you have to cancel for any reason. We cannot recommend any one insurer but we know that Guest First offer this service. If you choose to use them please use the link above.

Availability of accommodation:

Your room will be available from 3pm on the day of your arrival.  If you need to arrive earlier please contact us to see if this can be arranged. 

Departure:  

Guests are requested to vacate their rooms by 10am on the day of departure even if you are departing in the afternoon.  You will have access to other areas of the centre until the afternoon.

Damage and liability:  

Guests and visitors will be liable for the cost of repair or replacement of any damage caused to the buildings, grounds or property of the centre for which they are personally responsible.

Pets:

Assistance dogs are the only pets allowed on the premises.

Smoking: 

In accordance with legislation no smoking is permitted in any of our buildings.

Data protection and privacy policy:

Personal information provided by guests is stored securely in the centre`s records system and will be used solely for the centre`s purposes. We do not store debit/credit card details nor do we share customer details with any third parties.
