Behold Your God (Feb-Mar 2024)

Leader: Tony and Jilly Horsfall

The book of Isaiah is one of the largest in the entire Bible, and it is not always easy to understand. Yet it is packed with good things! Not only is it full of Jesus, with many passages pointing to him at the Servant of the Lord and coming Messiah, but it also calls us to enlarge our view of God so that we see him as the Sovereign Lord whose purposes are being worked out despite the opposition of the nations. As we read his beautiful words, hope rises within us as we are reminded that `the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea (11:9).`

Residential price: £425.00
Non-residential price: £295.00

Send My Roots Rain

Leader: Christopher Chapman

Send my Roots Rain will explore ways of allowing the life-giving water of the Spirit to soak down to your roots. Our roots lie in our story, in our experience of calling, and above all in abiding in relationship with our life-giving God. With the demands of ministry and the uncertainties that hang over the future, our roots can become dry. In caring for others we can neglect to look after ourselves. Yet every minister is also a disciple, called to the intimacy of companionship with Christ and continued growth in the Spirit. Our spiritual, physical and emotional health matters to God, who calls each one by name.

Residential price: £425.00
Non-residential price: £295.00

Praying In and Out

Leader: Val Freeman

To live well we need to be good both at breathing in and breathing out! And our life with God is the same. But it`s very human for us to over-focus on either praying in or praying out. This retreat looks at prayer in a broad sense and opens opportunity to find more balance in our life with God. We`ll explore how to receive from God as well as expressing ourselves to God; how to rest in as well as serving our loving Creator.

Jonah - The Depth of God`s Grace

`Jonah and the Whale` could easily be viewed as a fairy tale or a fantasy - something that sits outside the main thrust of the Old Testament. But of course, it isn`t! It speaks of a sovereign God, who is rich in mercy, whose compassionate love for the lost then, remains the same today. Join us as we `plumb the depths` of this short but significant Old Testament book.

Tell me more... Storytelling as spiritual...

Leader: Steve Gurr

In our being alongside others we often give space for people`s personal stories to be told and heard. The act of telling these stories, and our careful attention to them, is often the context for a person`s `knocking on the door` of the deeper questions of meaning and purpose, spirituality and faith. How might attentive listening and sensitive curiosity unlock these doors? How can we work in a more spiritually informed way to enable those we accompany to discover truth around meaning and purpose?
