Women over fifty can experience a sense of redundancy. If they are mothers, their children will no longer depend on them. In the eyes of the world their value as a sex object is over. The cut-off point for becoming a priest or a nun is past. In the church, there are many women over fifty, and the faith community often wonders aloud how it can attract more young people and more men. Old age looms, with its vulnerability and ailments. How to nourish the sense of meaningful spiritual purpose in this context?

We’ll be looking at Elizabeth, cousin to Mary the mother of Jesus. She who was called ‘barren’, and considered too old to begin anything worthwhile now, startled herself and everyone else by bringing forth possibly the wildest and most uncompromising prophetic life of all time.

Cousin Elizabeth redefines what it means to have fire in your belly! And you have to wonder, what kind of a woman was she, to raise a son like that?

We will be sharing our dreams and visions, our unspoken longings, and exploring the possibilities of what God is calling us to now.

If you wish to stay longer, or start your stay earlier, please contact us about availability.
