This retreat/workshop is for full-time Christian workers returning to the UK after ministry overseas or for an extended home assignment. It provides an opportunity to `unpack` the transition process and issues around adjustment in a context of group discussion, reflection and prayer.

This retreat has been run at Penhurst many times and feedback from participants shows that it is extremely valuable in succesfully navigating the re-entry process. We are delighted that Tony Horsfall, who originally wrote the material, will be returning to lead this retreat online.

Tony is a retreat leader based in Yorkshire, with experience of ministry overseas and in a local church in the north of England. He is the author of several books, including Rhythms of Grace, Spiritual growth in a Time of Change, Working from a Place of Rest, Mentoring Conversations, and co-author of Resilience in Life and Faith. He loves nothing better than to lead small groups on retreat and to help individuals nurture their inner life.

The retreat sessions will run 9.30am-12.30pm, 3-4.30pm and 7.30-9pm on Monday and Tuesday, and 9.30am-12.30pm on Wednesday. During and between sessions, there will be time for personal reflection. There will also be an opportunity for one-to-one discussion if requested.

The retreat will be run online via Zoom, with times together and periods for you to reflect individually. You will need a computer / laptop / tablet with audio/speakers or a smartphone to participate. A laptop or desktop computer works best as you can see only nine faces at one time on a tablet and some phones show only four.

Please note: this retreat will be held online via Zoom as above, not at Penhurst, as the centre is currently closed. The note below about staying extra nights is automatic and cannot be changed at present!

If you wish to stay longer, or start your stay earlier, please contact us about availability.
