A monthly course over six months, for those approaching retirement and for those who have finished full time work in the last year. This course will be run on Zoom, monthly on Wednesday evenings from 7.30 to 9.30pm. The dates are: 3 March, 24 March, 28 April, 26 May, 23 June, 29 September 2021.

By the end of the course participants will have:
Had opportunity to consider some of the implications of retirement for them personally.
Been inspired to pray, think and plan about how they can best use their retirement.
Been given some resources to help them to do this.
Will eventually have a purposeful, fulfilled retirement.

The programme will cover:
1. An introduction to the Retiring Well course and how to make the most of it.
2. Challenges & opportunities in retirement.
3. Life journeys and life legacies.
4. Exploring God`s calling for your retirement.
5. Succession planning and leaving a work legacy.

9. Supporting others, supporting yourself: including compiling a personal support matrix.
10. More time at home: considerations for those who are married and those who live alone.
11. Finding new identity & self-worth without paid employment.

The course will include a mix of presentation, discussions in small groups (using Zoom breakout rooms), personal exercises and Q&A. Participants are expected to take time between the monthly sessions to reflect, plan and pray about their personal retirement journey.

Helen developed the course in 2017 following her own journey from full time employment. She has run Retiring Well as a day event, over 6 monthly sessions, as a retreat weekend and in a one to one mentoring format. It has been run in homes, churches, at retreat centres and on Zoom.

This course is organised in partnership with Helen under her pro-bono banner Calder`s Consultancy. By registering, you are also giving Penhurst Retreat Centre permission to pass your details on to the other event organiser(s).
