OPEN TO ALL - An opportunity to join some of our `Penhurst Family` and volunteers in some practical projects in the house and grounds. Come and enjoy the beauty and fellowship of Penhurst, while also helping maintain and develop the centre together. Normal accommodation prices apply and online booking is not available for this weekend - please book via the office. If you cannot make the whoel weekend, there is also the option to come for Saturday only.

The `Penhurst Family` includes people from across the UK and worldwide who believe in and feel a deep connection to the ministry of this small retreat centre, and commit to praying regularly and intentionally for the retreat centre. For more information about and how to join, see: https://www.penhurst.org.uk/join-the-family

Currently planned projects for this weekend include the following, but more may be added as needed:

Apple Harvest - As the apple trees are shaken, help gather the falling apples into crates, ready to be taken to a local farm for pressing into apple juice. We are expected a smaller harvest this year, but hopefully as tasty as normal!

Penhurst Pickles and Chutney - Chopping lots of veg, stirring the pot and filling jars with lovely home-made pickle and chutney.

Dismantling old wooden railway carriage - we plan to recycle the wood to create new timber fencing!

Digging out and relaying flowerbed (1 metre square) - overtaken by ground elder, we want to save the lovely nerine bulbs that have been smothered. The bed will be dug out, weed membrane laid, the bed refilled and bulbs replanted.

Friday evening will include information and briefing about the projects, which will take place for about 4-5 hours on Saturday (with a break for lunch), followed by time for a satisfying rest and fellowship. Some projects may be finished on Sunday morning as appropriate, followed by a hearty Penhurst lunch.

The normal Penhurst rhythm of prayer will also be offered on Friday and Saturday.

Normal accommodation prices apply, with a 50% DISCOUNT FOR PENHURST FAMILY members.

Online booking is not available for this weekend - PLEASE BOOK VIA THE OFFICE on info@penhurst.org.uk or 01494 892088 and include which project(s) you are interested in joining. If you are unsure which projects you could manage, please phone us.

If you wish to stay longer, or start your stay earlier, please contact us about availability.
