The `Penhurst Family` includes people from across the UK and worldwide who believe in and feel a deep connection to the ministry of this small retreat centre, and commit to praying regularly and intentionally for the retreat centre. For more information about and how to join, see: https://www.penhurst.org.uk/join-the-family

Currently planned projects for this weekend include the following, but more may be added as needed:

Apple Harvest - As the apple trees are shaken, help gather the falling apples into crates, ready to be taken to a local farm for pressing into apple juice. We are expected a smaller harvest this year, but hopefully as tasty as normal!

Penhurst Pickles and Chutney - Chopping lots of veg, stirring the pot and filling jars with lovely home-made pickle and chutney.

Dismantling old wooden railway carriage - we plan to recycle the wood to create new timber fencing!

Digging out and relaying flowerbed (1 metre square) - overtaken by ground elder, we want to save the lovely nerine bulbs that have been smothered. The bed will be dug out, weed membrane laid, the bed refilled and bulbs replanted.

Following a short briefing, the projects which will take place for about 4-5 hours on Saturday (with a break for a hearty Penhurst lunch), followed by time for a satisfying rest and fellowship.

When booking, please include which project(s) you are interested in joining. If you are unsure which projects you could manage, can only come for part of the day, or would like to come for the whole weekend, please contact us on info@penhurst.org.uk or 01424 892088.
